Africa Foundation supports rural communities to not only establish schools for their children, but to ensure that they are quality learning environments that will enable the students to reach their optimal potential, and ultimately break the cycle of poverty.
We know that children do not excel in over-crowded classrooms.
Saparingo is the only primary school serving the community of Saparingo in a deeply rural area near to the Masai Mara Conservancy. The school was started by the community in 2005, before which there was nowhere in walking distance to access school, and most missed out. Through the generosity of our donors, Africa Foundation has provided infrastructure in the form of classrooms, accommodation for teachers and boarding houses for students, and kitchen and dining facilities. Today the school has 280 students and an exceptional record in final year exam results.
